This gallery includes a stunning group of War of 1812 Notes and Demand Notes, two cherished numismatic series born in wartime. Respected numismatist D. Brent Pogue assembled the most valuable collection of coins and banknotes in history, with a market value well above $100 million. His paper money collection — all of it certified by PMG — includes 220 notes of remarkable quality and rarity, with many finest-known examples, including lots with special serial numbers, replacement notes and other great rarities. Pogue’s US Currency collection realized more than $9 million at auction in March 2020, with 27 notes exceeding $100,000 each.

PMG has certified hundreds of banknotes from this distinguished collection, which is focused on banknotes from Scotland and Northern Ireland issued in the 20th century. A PMG-certified banknote from Scotland led a January 2020 auction and realized $8,400, more than double its pre-auction estimate.
